I had the fortune of working for Nordstrom on two separate occasions, and it’s the best place I’ve ever worked. Because of my experience I have since only worked for founder-led companies. Although Mr. Bruce had retired he would still often show up to the corporate office where he had his corner room, and where his 3 sons would often be seen chatting with Dad. Working for Nordstrom made me a better person. The people there and their kindness is so genuine and an example the world can learn from. Mr. Bruce leaves behind a legacy that shows what building a strong culture can do, how a successful company can be built with strong principles that put people first, and how a family with a single mission and shared leadership can succeed. You will be greatly missed Mr. Bruce. Say hi to Blake, we miss you both.
