My first day at Nordstrom in 2014, I received a copy of “Leave It Better Than You Found It”. At my orientation, it was mentioned that Mr. Bruce would sign a copy of his book. Not only did he happily agree to sign my book, but he asked me to sit down and talk for 30 minutes. He was genuinely interested in my background and my new role at the company. He also shared his perspective on what makes Nordstrom such a special place to work. His passion for people and the company were crystal clear. I’ve been at the company now for 10 years, My encounter with Mr. Bruce and his welcoming nature is something I’ve carried in my time here.
