I grew up watching my mother work for Nordstrom, a company that she loved and respected. When I joined Nordstrom six and a half years ago, I felt like I was following in her footsteps. I remember reading Mr. Bruce’s book “Leave It Better Than You Found It” during the first days of my commute and thinking, ‘this is the company for me—I was born to be a Nordy!’

His words inspired me to always add value to any situation, relationship, place, or job that I’m a part of, and leave it better than I found it. I am grateful for his life and his legacy, and I hope to honor him by continuing to uphold the values and vision that he instilled in Nordstrom.
