Mr. Bruce was an inspiration to me, and many of us. I always felt such pride in working for Nordstrom after leaving a meeting where Mr. Bruce was a speaker; he always had my full attention – I know I didn’t want the meeting to end as I was hooked! Mr. Bruce was also very approachable, even though I was/am shy, I remember him walking between 803 & 865 buildings and I decided to congratulate him on receiving Footwear New’s Lifetime Achievement award, and we briefly chatted… I recall feeling seen, heard and even appreciated during our walk to the elevators, a memory I’ll cherish forever. I don’t have a photo or selfie with Mr. Bruce to share however the photo I attached is in memory of me witnessing Mr. Bruce’s reaction when walking into Erik’s 865 32nd floor office for the first time saying, “wow, now that’s a million-dollar view!” while looking out at the city where he had such an impact.
