When I was 19, I started my career opening the Santa Barbara location in Kids Shoes. During the new store opening we were blessed to have Mr. Bruce and Blake there for kick off meetings. I was so in awe of what a kind and caring man Mr. Bruce was. Over the years I would see him randomly at different openings and events. The last time I saw him was when I was supporting the opening of the Americana in Glendale, CA. His car pulled up and I was privileged to hold the door to the new store open for him and say “Hello, Mr. Bruce, so good to see you!” A couple of my co-workers were in shock as they had never met him. I will always remember him- he definitely left a lasting impression.
